- This is a very important statement for prospective
campground Buyers because it indicates what most
experienced campground Owners already know: Folks are
still going to take their vacations and, short of
crashing in on their relatives, camping, for most is
the cheapest way to go and “funnest” for the entire
family. There are now plenty of rentals out there in
campgrounds (cabins and RVs) for folks who don’t
actually own a camper. And, of course, tenting
usually picks up significantly during tight economic
times.
In fact many camp-ground owners have commented in the past that folks will often spread out their vacation days through three and four day weekends, which actually increases the number of camper nights that they rent, thereby increasing business for the owner. Also, of strong significance this season will be the price of gas! If prices remain on the reasonable side and, especially if they stay around the current price, campers will probably travel farther then they have the past couple of years.
Both of these conditions should have a strong positive impact on camping this year and, given a “reasonable weather” season, many campgrounds should see an increase in business this summer!
